Thanks to you the Damien F. Massella Run For Recovery was a great success. Over 500 hundred people participated in this event, drawing the attention of 98 Rock and WBAL Television. Many participants verbalized positive comments about the commitment and generosity of the sponsors. Support like yours made it possible to begin to make a difference in the lives of teens that suffer from substance abuse. Not only did we raise $14,000 to give to the Howard County Addictions Center and the Anasazi Foundation, and have encouraged our community to begin to address this issue, we may have introduced many people to the exercise of running.

Throughout the process of organizing the race we were contacted by both recovering addicts and their families. It became apparent to us that the Run For Recovery needed to be more than a one-time event. The problem of addiction continues long after the last runner has crossed the finish line. Therefore, the Run For Recovery will be an annual event. Can we count on you for your continued support? We have started the process of forming a non-profit organization called Damien’s Recovery Inc. The Run For Recovery will be an annual event of the organization designed to provide assistance to programs that will inspire community support for teens and their families working for recovery.
